‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams To Join ‘Doctor Who’ For Ninth Season

If you are anything like me, then you hold onto every little piece of Doctor Who information that comes across your screen. As a fan of the hit BBC show, any little casting change (or addition) makes me squee with joy. This addition is no different – as the hit show is bringing in Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams in a guest starring role for the show’s ninth season.

She will guest star alongside the twelfth doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, but the show’s head honchos are keeping her on-screen identity close to the vest.

Maisie Williams said, “I’m so excited to be working on ‘Doctor Who’ as it’s such a big and important part of British culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

Executive Producer Steven Moffat said, “We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on ‘Doctor Who’. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”

The show’s twelfth doctor graces the small screen in the Fall of 2015. Until then, we have the below picture of Maisie Williams standing inside of the TARDIS for your viewing pleasure.

Doctor Who will return with Peter Capaldi in the role of the Doctor in the Fall in an episode titled “The Magician’s Apprentice”. In addition to the casting announcement, we were also treated to the titles of the fifth and sixth episodes of the ninth season. The episodes will be called “The Girl Who Died” and “The Woman Who Lived”.
