Game Of Thrones: New Season Five Teaser Clips

New teasers released for season five Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones returns April 12 with the premiere of season 5. With less than a month of waiting to go, the fans are getting excited, and HBO is releasing teasers and clips to keep the anticipation level high. On Wednesday, two new clips were released, giving one more peek at what’s to come in the new season.

The first clip is thirty seconds of Jon Snow talking to Mance Rayder. This appears to be his attempt at making peace. We know from the previously released season 5 trailer that this is part of Jon’s plan to save the North.

You told me you weren’t here to conquer. You told me your people had bled enough.

He ends by demanding that Mance place the survival of the Wildlings above his own pride. How Mance responds to this remains to be revealed. We know Rayder isn’t a force easily stopped, but Jon has really come into his own strength, too, and we’ve seen some strong leadership skills from him.

In the second clip, we see Varys and Tyrion having a conversation, centering on Tyrion’s escape. Anyone familiar with the eunuch knows that any move he makes is made with his own best interests in mind. As it turns out, he did indeed have reasons for helping Tyrion escape. In this clip, he lays out some high expectations for Tyrion’s future.

Tyrion may say he’s no savior, but the surviving population of King’s Landing owe their lives to him, even if some members of the Lannister family do choose not to acknowledge it.

As for the other characters, we’ve seen a fair piece of what this season holds for Daenerys, and a brief peek at Cersei, Tommen, and several others (if you haven’t seen the Game Of Thrones season 5 trailer yet, it’s here) but we’re still left with a lot of questions about a lot of characters’ storylines.

There’s a lot yet to be revealed about the remaining Stark children, about Brienne of Tarth, about Jaime Lannister, and so many others — the wait for April 12 is going to be a tough one.
