It could be a while before Uncle Jesse, Stephanie, and the rest of the Tanner Clan reunite on the small screen.

Talks have broken down on a proposed remake of Full House, television insiders say. Actor John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse on the ABC sitcom from its premiere in 1987 until the series finale in 1995, had been paramount in spearheading a campaign to revive the nostalgic hit.

Earlier this month, Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.) told OK! Magazine: “John Stamos has actually been working on a semi-remake of Full House. I know it would involve me and Jodie [Sweetin]…We would revive our characters but today as young women.”

Not likely, say insiders.

“We couldn’t make the deal,” a source close to the project tells E!’s Watch with Kristen. “It’s completely dead right now.”
