“Friends” Movie “Definitely On,” Says Former Star
The cast of Friends is reuniting to bring one of television’s biggest hit of the ’90s to the big screen, according to former series star James Michael Tyler.

The sitcom ended in 2004 10 seasons, but the show’s six core cast members – David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry – are planning on starring in a film adaptation of the show that made them stars, according to Tyler, who played Central Perk employee Gunther on the series.
“Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film,” Tyler told Britain’s News Of The World on Sunday. “I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”
The show’s original creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, have reportedly been drafted in to write and produce the movie, a second source tells the publication.
“Everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project. The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed.”
Friends: The Movie is set to hit theatres in the Summer 2011.
