Freida Pinto, the actress who starred in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, is set to become the latest face of cosmetics brand Estee Lauder.

The 24-year-old Mumbai-born actress and former model will join Estee Lauder spokesmodels Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow in a deal reported to be worth $400,000.

“Freida is hot property right now because ‘Slumdog’ has been a history maker of sorts,” says Bollywood expert Taran Adarsh. “There shouldn’t be any surprise if firms are lining up to sign her as their brand ambassador.”

“Since the cosmetic giant Estee Lauder hasn’t commented about it, I am not in a position to make any comment,” the actress rep replied when quizzed on the Estee Lauder reports.

If the deal comes to fruitation, Freida would become Estee Lauder’s first Indian spokesmodel.
