Now here’s a casting call we can get on board with. Picture This: Billy Bob Thornton as iconic dream slayer Freddy Krueger. It’s about to happen, according to the actor who originated the role of the demonic teen killer in eight installments of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise between 1984 and 1991.
Actor Robert Englund says Billy Bob has agreed to put on Freddy’s signature fedora and glove of knives for an upcoming remake of the original Elm Street movie, the British Sun reported Wednesday.
“A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies,” Robert revealed, adding that Billy Bob is an “excellent choice” for the role of Freddy Krueger.
