Fran Drescher U.S. Senate

Fran Drescher could soon bring her signature laugh to the U.S. Senate.
The 51-year-old actress has offered up her name for consideration as a replacement for New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who was recently nominated as Secretary of State by President-Elect Barack Obama.
“I’m a New Yorker. It’s a part of the fabric of my beingIt just seems natural to me to throw my hat in the ring.”
Fran says fans often ask her about her political ambitions: “It was one of the single most-asked questions: When are you going to run? Only second to: Is that your real voice?”
Former First Daughter Caroline Kennedy, the daughter and only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy, has also expressed interest in taking over the Senate seat.
