Forbes Highest-Earning “American Idols” 2009
Multiplatinum-selling, Grammy Award-winning singer Carrie Underwood has a topped a new Forbes Magazine listing of the year’s highest-earning former American Idol contestants.
Going into its ninth season, from Fantasia Barrino to Diana Degarmo — the grossly-popular FOX singing competition — has been credited with plucking a number of aspiring young singers from obscurity and sending them sailing toward stardom.
Running second to Carrie is Oscar and Grammy-winning star Jennifer Hudson, a finalist on the third season of Idol. J-Hud earned $5 million in the last year, bolstered by an endorsement deal with Gap.
