First Look: “Shrek Forever After”

USA Today has our first look at DreamWorks’ hotly-anticipated Shrek Forever After, the final film in the Shrek series that will hit theaters and IMAX in 3D on May 21.
The plot finds a depressed Shrek wondering what life in Far Far Away would be like if he were never born, the studio explains. The premise is the Brothers Grimm meets It’s a Wonderful Life: After rescuing a princess, getting hitched and fathering triplets, Shrek is feeling over-domesticated. “He has lost his roar,” says director Mike Mitchell (Sky High, Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo). “It used to send villagers running away in terror. Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches.”
The debut theatrical trailer for Shrek Forever After 3D will premiere with showings of Avatar beginning Dec. 18.

My nephews, nieces and kids all around me like to watch Shrek, so I will definitely mark May 21, 2010 on my calendar for the said movie. That would be a great time for the family.
