First Lady Michelle Obama Appearing On “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”

Fresh off BurgerGate 2011, First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in a taping of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as part of her ongoing Joining Forces initiative to help military families.

She will tape the episode with a military family, The Marshalls, in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Thursday, The White House said Monday. The show will feature Barbara Marshall, a 15-year Navy veteran who started a home called “The Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House,” which gives homeless female vets a place to stay and other support services. The Extreme Makeover team will be building a new jubilee house for the family.

This isn’t the first time Mrs. O has made a television stop to promote “Joining Forces.” Last month, she taped a special appearance on Nickelodeon’s iCarly. The First Lady has also appeared on Sesame Street.

Mrs. Obama’s Extreme Makeover episode will air in October.
