Fighting Over Rihanna? Chris Brown Meets with Cops After Brawl with Drake

R&B crooner Chris Brown has sat down with New York Police officials after his Thursday morning brawl with rapper Drake and his entourage. An Australian tourist and four other bystanders were injured by flying glass when an altercation between the men — allegedly driven by both’s love for “Pon de Replay” beauty Rihanna — erupted at SoHo hotspot W.i.P. (Work in Progress) late this week.

Chris — who is still serving unsupervised probation for a 2009 assault on Rihanna — met with detectives in New York as a “witness and a victim” in the melee. His lawyers later spoke to police to present evidence to show Drake and Meek Mill were the aggressors, snoops say.

Meanwhile, Drake has moved to deny “any wrongdoing” in the fight that left Brown with a ghastly gash on his face:

“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

Brown’s publicist shot back with this statement:

“Chris, [his girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.i.P. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”

Chris has been at war with Drake since he was romantically linked to Rihanna, who broke up with him after he was convicted of assaulting her three years ago. We hear Brown was hit on the chin with a bottle after he unsuccessfully tried to extend an olive branch to Drake, who was linked to RiRi after Brown assaulted her in 2009. His peace offering was sent back with a note allegedly reading:

“I’m f**king the love of your life. Deal with it.”

According to multiple spywitnesses, Drake gave Chris the finger and shouted, “I’m about to go whoop that ass!” before the fighting ensued. As the story goes, Drake felt disrespected by Chris’s presence at the club and fellow rappers Meek Mill, Juelz Santana and Tray B backed him up. Drake reportedly then shouted, “You be on that hoe sh*t on Twitter ni**a,” referring to a recent twitter war between Chris, Drake and Meek regarding who is with Rihanna.

Chris’ bodyguards soon got involved and all hell broke loose. Interestingly enough, witnesses agree that Drake was never physically involved in the action, even though his mouth and hand were largely responsible for sparking the meleee.

One spywitness recalls:

“Chris and Drake never got in each other’s faces. It was entourage versus entourage, never Drake versus Chris. It was lot of pushing and shoving. People were picking up ice buckets in case they had to throw it. They tore the club apart. It was bad.”

Other unconfirmed reports, on the other hand, claim that it was Drake who threw a punch at his romantic rival, thus sparking the fist fight.

Hollie C., a 24-year-old Australian tourist, was taken to hospital and received stiches on her forehead after being glassed during the War at W.i.P. In a video clip she recorded after being released from hospital, Hollie lamented:

“I’ve just looked on the internet and realized the reason why I have 16 stitches on my head, on my face is because of some stupid famous people having a fight over a girl. Now where’s the justice in them driving away in a limo while I had to catch the train home on one of my holidays?”

She told TMZ:

“Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me; consequently hitting me in the head. I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness.”

She has since filed a police report.
