“Fast & Furious” Tops Weekend Box Office–$72.5 Million
The adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious sped into first place at the weekend box office, earning $72.5 million, studio estimates showed Sunday.
The fourth chapter in The Fast & The Furious franchise features Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and the rest of the cast of the 2001 original reuniting to take down a drug kingpin.
The high-octane hit also left the competition in the dusst when it comes to April debuts; Fast & Furious easily surpassed the previous record of $42.2 million set by Anger Management in 2003.
Here’s how the Weekend Box Office Top Ten rounded out:

3. “The Haunting in Connecticut,” $9.6 million.
