This may be our best fall ever, thanks to Balmain and H&M.
The long awaited Fall/Winter collaboration between the mega design house and H&M was finally unveiled and it did not disappoint. For Balmain lovers who have been suffering with nostalgia from seasons past, this collection is a guaranteed cure. Olivier Rousteing, the creative director for Balmain, went for a line of designs that were reminiscent of many previous collections.
Bold gold embroidery, jeweled toned sequence and beading, velvet accents, and leather were heavily featured, putting a kick of pizazz and edge into the winter season. As usual, the Balmain aesthetic screamed loud and clear.
For women, silhouettes are figure flattering, daring, and enigmatic, holding close to its sensuality. The men’s collection was also showy with sleek, fresh spins on military coats and biker jackets.
Accessories available with the line include debutant clutches, earrings, thigh-high suede boots and leather knapsacks, to name just a few. The collaboration even includes a fragrance that launches after the collection.
Fans seem particularly excited about this temporary fashion marriage because of the high level of luxury Balmain managed to maintain at much lower and very affordable price points. We only hope that the quality of the actual pieces effectively mirrors the perceived quality communicated in the lookbook/campaign images.
The collection will officially become available online and in select stores worldwide on November 5th, and the fragrance launches December 5th. You can view the entire lookbook below! Click on the thumbnail images to open a slideshow.
