Farrah Fawcett Dying
Farrah Fawcett is in the final days of her brave battle against an agressive form of cancer.
The former Charlie’s Angels star, 61, is losing her battle as anal cancer spreads to her liver. Her 91-year-old dad James has flown from Texas to her home in Los Angeles to say his final farewell.
The actress’ partner of more than 25 years, actor Ryan O’Neal, has revealed that she is no longer receiving treatment because the illness has become terminal.
Ryan says the cancer-stricken actress is bedridden as she clings to life.
“She stays in bed now,” Farrah’s longtime love said in a touching interview with PEOPLE on Thursday. “The doctors see that she’s comfortable …. The treatment has pretty much ended.”
Ryan says one of the cruelest parts of Farrah’s illness has been the loss of her beautiful wavy blonde hair –which was perhaps one of the most imitated looks by women in the ’70s.
“Her famous hair is gone. I have it at home. She didn’t care. I rub her head. It’s kind of fun, actually, this great, tiny little head. How she carried all that hair I’ll never know. She doesn’t have a vanity about it.”
Fawcett has battled cancer since 2006. The illness, which doctors originally thought to be colon cancer, went in remission, but returned in May 2007.
“It’s a love story. I just don’t know how to play this one. I won’t know this world without her. Cancer is an insidious enemy,” the 68-year-old Ryan added.
This is so sad. We hope she isn’t in a lot of pain…..

She is no different than anyone else. Just a human suffering an unfortunate disease. We all feel bad when our neighbor, our family member or aquaintance meets the end of their journey. What an adventure she lived.

I think Farrah is a lovely woman who personified the seventies and went on to prove she wasn’t just another fluffy blonde. She definately had grit and depth in The Burning Bed and Extremities. And now she is sharing her corageous self effacing struggle on camera with us. I will miss her. She was so very charming.
