Justin Guarini was the first runner-up on Season I of American Idol. The five years since losing the crown to Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson has been marked by dropped recording contracts and a busted Broadway career. But the TV Guide Channel is giving J.G one last shot at stardom.

Justin while be hosting the network’s Idol Tonight live preshow dedicated to the the talent competition. J.G will provide commentary on the show along with cohosts Kimberly Caldwell, the rocker chick from Idol Season II , and Rosanna Tavarez, a winner of the WB’s Popstars talent competition.

“He’s a lot of fun, and he kind of anchors our commentary, which tends to be a lot edgier, and a little more critical,” Rosanna told tvguide.com of her new coworker. “He restrains himself a little more, so he’s a good balance.”

Idol Tonight features interviews with former finalists, stylists, vocal coaches and industry experts.
