Eva Mendes, who checked into Utah’s celebrity-sprinkled Cirque Lodge Treatment Center for rehab two weeks ago, is battling an addiction to prescription drugs. Eva was reportedly prompted to seek help suffering a series of frightening blackouts.

A Mendes insider claims the actress is a “closet drinker” as well and likely was trying to “get a handle on everything and put her life back on track.”

“This is not anything like a Lindsay [Lohan] or Britney [Spears] situation. This is a terrific and talented woman who knows she has a problem and wants to fix it.”
