Mexican-American actress Eva Longoria Parker is set to star in her first-ever Spanish-speaking film role.

Desperate Housewives’ Gabby Solis has landed a role in Day of Grace, a Mexican film about kidnapping.

Eva’s character will help solve the mystery at the center of the film’s plot, producer Leopoldo Gout told The Associated Press Thursday. He adds that the star “read the script and loved the characters and the story’s depth.”

The movie will be filmed on location in Mexico City later this year.
