You know when two Hollywood stars meet at a party and suddenly everyone’s reporting about their blossoming new romance? That could well be the case with Oscar winner Charlize Theron and Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, who have come out swinging against rumors that they are Tinseltown’s newest unlikely couple.
Stonestreet says he is not dating Theron, contrary to a weekend report from Britain’s Daily Mail, which claimed that the two had commenced a romance after being introduced by mutual friends earlier this year.
“They started off as friends but things are blossoming between them,” a spywitness claimed. “Eric is down-to-earth and funny and Charlize thinks the world of him. It’s early day but they’re very fond of each other.”
Eric, who won an Emmy Award Sunday for his role as gay dad Cameron Tucker on Modern Family, recently broke up with long-time girlfriend Katherine Tokarz. Theron, 37, split from ex-fiance Stuart Townsend, the 37-year-old Snow White and the Huntsman actress, who adopted baby Jackson from South Africa in May,
Charlize and Eric were photographed posing together at the White House Correspondents Dinner in April, but Stonestreet insists: There’s no relationship.
“I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating,” the 41-year-old tweeted Sunday. “Its starting to make Halle Berry jealous.”
Stonestreet’s publicist chimed in with:
“There is nothing romantic going on between them. He has only met Charlize twice.”
