On Wednesday’s edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Grey’s Anatomy Eric Dane was grilled on recent rumors that series co-stars Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving the ABC medical drama.

He said he couldn’t say whether they are leaving because it is up to Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes to make the announcement.

“That’s more of a Shonda Rhimes thing,” the actor, who plays Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on the show, replied. “I don’t really comment.”

“I worked with them this morning, and they were both very present. know you want to know, and I get it, but until the boss says this is going down, it’s not happening.”

“OK, but I see from your eyes, they’re leaving,” Ellen joked.
