The love affair between actress Emmy Rossum and Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz began with a Tweet.

According to the 23-year-old actress, their relationship was ignited with a dare sent to her via the micro-blogging website.

“I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter,” Emmy said Thursday on the syndicated radio show “Valentine in the Morning.” “That’s how we met – on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I’d never sung before … So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun.”

Emmy had previously denied the blossoming relationship, despite pictures emerging of her kissing Adam, 45, during a charity concert in September. Emmy is currently divorcing her husband of two years, music executive Justin Siegel, and says she wants nothing from the divorce, except “my freedom.”
