Eminem has scored the coveted title of Top-Selling Artist of the Decade after 32.2 million copies of his controversial albums between Jan. 2000 and Nov. 1, 2009, according to a ranking from Nielsen SoundScan. Em’s overall album sales can be largely attributed to both 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002’s The Eminem Show.
Em was followed by The Beatles, who landed in second place on Nielsen’s listings of the decade’s best-selling artists. The legends moved 30 million copies of their Greatest Hits compiliation 1, released in Nov. 2000. The album’s massive success helped The Fab Four clutch the decade’s best-selling album nod.
