The only known nude snap of late screen icon Elizabeth Taylor has resurfaced nearly 60 years after the star famously stripped for it.
NSFW After the Jump….
Private collector Jim Shaudis, who purchased the vintage nude in 1980, has released the image in public for fans of the star little more than a week after she succumbed to congestive heart failure at the age of 79. Dame Liz was just 24 when she kneeled down passionately on a white fur rug sans knickers.
The photograph was taken by one of her closest friends, actor and photographer Roddy McDowall, who convinced the star to take the shot as an engagement gift for Hollywood producer Michael Todd, her third husband. He persuaded her to pose naked by promising her that the image would be done tastefully. The pair were married just 13 months before Todd was killed in a plane crash during a storm over New Mexico in 1958.
Heartbroken after the tragic incident, Taylor is believed to have given the nude photograph to her assistant and makeup artist Penny Taylor. Shaudis purchased it decades later.
