Elizabeth Taylor was placed on life support last week after a crippling battle with pneumonia left the 76-year-old film legend unable to breathe on her own. Ms. Taylor’s condition worsened reportedly causing the star to suffer congestive heart failure on Tuesday, tabloid insiders say.

Elizabeth is rumored to be “very sick” despite now being able to breathe without the help of a machine.

“The doctors thought they were going to lose her. She’s still very sick, but she’s past the crisis.” Her children were at her bedside and doctors warned she might not survive, a spywitness revealed to the National Enquirer early Thursday.

First diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2004, Elizabeth Taylor also suffers from diabetes and osteoporosis.
