Elisabeth Hasselbeck Leaving “The View” and Making Move to Fox News

The View will soon be getting a cast facelift: Controversial conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck is ending her 10 year run on the daytime program after accepting a gig with Fox News. Hasselbeck will chime in on Hot Topics for the final time on Wednesday, making her the third co-host scheduled to depart the longrunning ABC gabfest.

Elisabeth’s exit has been rumored for years, but was recently campaigned by producers in the hopes of breathing new life into the daytime mainstay. Also leaving are Joy Behar and View creator Barbara Walters, who announced her retirement from television in May.

Hasselbeck will make her debut on the conservative news channel this fall on Fox and Friends, an early morning opinion talk show. She’ll be replacing Gretchen Carlson and joining Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.

“I have been a longtime fan of Fox and Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September. It is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home.”

Fox News Chairman, Roger Ailes, welcomed Elisabeth to the network, singing her praises in a press release on Tuesday:

“Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View. She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”

Who do you think should replace the fiery republican as co-host at the table?
