Eddie Cibrian is speaking out in the wake of the news of his divorce from estranged wife Brandi Glanville. On Monday, the star filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court to end his seven year marriage to the former model.

“From the outset I have made a conscious decision to try and keep this matter private and not discuss it in the press,” the CSI actor said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “While my wife and I are dissolving our marriage, we will work together to parent our two children.”

Cibrian, who has two sons with Glanville, is accused of an affair with country songbird LeAnn Rimes — who is also married. The pair allegedly began sleeping together while working on the Lifetime movie Northern Lights earlier this year.

“I love my boys very much. I want only the best for them and am committed to being a devoted father,” he continued. “I will continue to be respectful and sensitive to this issue by not doing interviews about this ongoing private matter. I wish everyone would do the same.”
