I’m not sure if I agree with this family’s ideals. Watching this show, I felt it a little odd and unfair that the older children are pretty much doing the parents job of taking care of their younger siblings. Yes in most families siblings do help out with the younger ones but not at the extent these children do. The parents decision to have more children seems unfair to the parents as well as the children in that future pregnancies come with risks. Older mothers have many medical risks as well as the babies and the parents need to look at those risks. What will happen if they have a child born with a disability? Will they pass it off as Gods plan and continue for another child? Do they really expect the older kids will be able to care for that child while they work on making another little one? If the Duggar parents can have these children and give the necessary time and attention each one needs then ok, go ahead, but otherwise, they need to stop and appreciate all the kids they already have

I agree with you Sarah. Everybody rails against Jimbob and Michelle. Yet no one is out railing against the underprivilaged women and teen moms, who have tons of kids they can’t take care of. These people costs the taxpayers of America millions a year becase these moochers can’t feed their children, so we have free lunch and free breakfast programs and we pay there welfare and their rent thru section 8 and god knows what else. The Duggars commited to having a family. Welfare moms get pregnant accidentaly and the fathers are never commited to taking care of their kids. The Duggars take great care of their children. I would challenge one person on this site to find a welfare mom who does as a good job.

I think jimbob and michelle are wonderful parents and I think they and their children are a great ministry to the “overpopulated world”. To the people who are against their religious and personal choices I have three major points to make 1) a personal choice is exactly that-personal and they don’t need your opinion or permission. 2) you say they are contributing to the overpopulation crisis, yet the black underpriveledged community can spit out 5 children a piece by 5 different men? In a low income community with just 30 houses that would be 150 children, which I promise you won’t come anywhere near being as well mannered, disciplined or as bright as the duggar children are. And 3) yes, the older children help with the younger children. That’s called responsibility. That’s called maturity. That’s called family! As a post script, to the person who is eager to see religion erradicated, I will pray for you and assure you that with the duggars having such a large family to spread the word of god, your wish will never come to pass.

I am in the middle of a study of women of higher order pregancies and the long term damage done both physcially and mentally to the children and to the mother. One thing is for sure that Michelle Duggar’s life will be cut short because of the long term damage done to her body. I wonder if she still has her own teeth? The reason why she appears to be so “happy” all the time is because of the hormones she continues to produce. Once these hormones stop, which will be about eighteen months after her final pregnacy and then she will probaby have a major break down. She is really on a perpetual high, as most new moms are, but she is always having a baby or just had one and nursing so her high never stops. Lucky for her kids, but once this ends, they will most likely have a mom they’ve never seen before. The study that I’m part of has mainstream families which is very different than this “compound” family. My wish is that their daughters don’t have the same life. Being a mother is a wonderful experience however passing that special relationship on to your children is just not acceptable.

I don’t think its healthy to have 19 children. Are they getting pregnant on purpose? If they are is it for publicity? I think it’s wrong. They are putting each child they have in danger. The odds have been with them with the start ,no special needs children,but now poor little joslyn is at risk of dying. And Mrs. duggar is putting herself in danger as well.but to keep herself safe i say that 19 is more then enouph Mrs.Duggar,your just putting yours and your family in danger of losing you>

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! I MEAN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE SHOW SOME OF THE KIDS LICK THE PLATES BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL HUNGRY… LOOK AT WHEN THEY TAKE PICTURES THAT IS ABOUT THE ONLY TIME THEY CARRY THE LITTLE ONES. WHY? TO SHOW THEY ARE THE PERFECT BIG FAMILY WHEN THEY ARE NOT. i’VE SEEN THE OLDER GIRLS FEEDING AND CARRYING THOSE LITTLE ONES ALL THE TIME WHILE THE SHOW IS ON IT’S TERRBILE, I FEEL SORRY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY BUT ESPECIALLY THE OLDER KIDS HAVING TO DO THE PARENTS JOB GIVE ME A BREAK! WHAT YOUR OLDER KIDS SHOULD BE DOING IS GETTING EDUCATED AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY YOU CAN AFFORD THAT. AT LEAST YOU SHOULD WTIH ALL THE MONEY YOU MAKE YOU OLD GOATS SHAME ON YOU.

With the world population at a crisis point, I think this show is a slap in the face. They’re saying more the merrier while the earth is at a point where its not going to be able to feed all the people in the world. They should stop the show before too many people think its ok to have huge families. Seriously all they’re think about is the show if they decide to have even more kids.
DUGGARS stop living in biblical times and start thinking about your kids future on this earth.
