Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson is “looking forward” to kicking off a new season of the smash reality show, despite his family’s recent impasse with parent company A&E.
Aside from a statement on their website supporting family patriarch Phil Robertson, the rest of the family has stayed silent on the controversial statements that saw the outspoken church deacon suspended from the show before being subsequently reinstated.
On New Year’s Eve, however, Duck Commander CEO Willie and wife Korie appeared on the Fox News Channel’s All-American New Year special, where they seemed to dodge questions about the controversy fielded by hosts Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselback.
Willie didn’t have a whole lot to say, just that the situation between the family and A&E had been worked out:
“We’re just glad to be back to work, and A&E and us are fine. We’re looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It’s a New Year so we’re ready to break in a New Year and start it all over again.”
Korie was similarly cordial, saying:
“Hey, I’m just glad the family’s all together, the best thing about the show is we get to do it as a family. We’re all happy, happy, happy.”
The new season of Duck Dynasty premieres Wednesday, Jan. 15.
