With his career and credibility in the toliet, Dr. Phil is on the brink of a breakdown, according to a new tabloid report.

A close friend and a mental health expert tell GLOBE the tough-talking psychologist needs to seek professional help….”I think he should seriously consider getting help before he has a major breakdown….Robin has even suggested he get some counseling. He’s incredibly paranoid…He’s in duck and cover mode, whining, ‘Why does everyone hate me?’”

The first flap erupted when Dr. Phil rushed to see Britney at the hospital…The plan then blew up in his face when the family accused him of doing it for publicity, the GLOBE writes.

The once tough-talking Dr. Phil McGraw has been left “paranoid” after one of his assistants bailed seventeen year old Mercedes Nichols out of a Florida jail. The Lakeland, FL teen is one of several cheerleaders accused of savagely beating a Myspace shit-talker and posting the video on You Tube.

“Phil says he has a big bullseye on his back,” says the GLOBE spy. “At least four staff members are ready to jump ship….There was even a report that his show may be cancelled!”
