Dr. Phil Guest Abuse Allegations: “The Dr Phil Show” Bullying Threating Guests

The Dr. Phil Show could be standing on it’s last leg. After coming under fire for controversial comments he made concerning Britney Spears’ mental breakdown back in January, “Tell It Like It Is” Phil and his daytime talk show are once again under scrutiny for posting $30,000 bail for Mercades Nichols, one of eight Florida cheerleaders arrested for the severe beating of another teenager (featured in tape which was posted on YouTube last week). Now Dr. Phil is facing a new scandal as show insiders claim the host and his staff routinely “bully and threaten” show guests and even kicked one heroin-addicted former guest out of the rehab facility they promised to pay for one year.

“Dr. Phil is supposed to help guest solve problems, but his staff often creates worse ones.”

A new report from The National Enquirer cites several cases where guests were allegedly threatened to secure their participation on the program or walked away from an appearance feeling “misled.”

When a homeless woman living in a van refused to appear on Dr. Phil when approached by show producers, her “poor daughter was threatened that if her mom didn’t take part, she would have to pay for the crew’s entire airfare, hotel, and expenses,” says an Enquirer source.

The Phil spy says a couple was manipulated into appearing on the show under their guise that Dr. Phil would foot the bill for one year of rehab for their heroin-addicted daughter if they cooperated with producers:

“The parents made their story public only because they couldn’t afford to pay for the rehab, which their child desperately needed…The parents were shocked when the girl was released after only two months…They were told the show only authorized payment for 60 days. The parents were left feeling disappointed and misled.”
