“Dr Hahn” is leaving Seattle Grace. Actress Brooke Smith will no longer appear on ABC’s popular medical drama Grey’s Anatomy as cardiac doctor “Erica Hahn,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

According to EW, the network demanded Brooke’s character be written out of the show after becoming uncomfortable with both the explicit direction of the show’s first gay romance between “Dr. Hahn” and “Dr. Callie Torres” (played by Sara Ramirez).

“Dr. Hahn” will appear on the show for the last time this Thursday.

Wow! With so much explicit sexuality between opposite sex couples on Grey’s this move is so hypocrtical. You have two women who obviously respect and care for each other being booted off, while the hetersexuals continue with casual meaningless relationships. Shame on ABC and Shondra Rimes. I will never watch this show ever again.

I admit I was a little creeped out by the Callie/Erica story line. However, how can the ABC suits find their relationship problematic when the remaining characters spend more time examining each other than the patients? I think they shot last week’s entire episode in the on call room! Get over yourself ABC! This is why I watch The Office and DVR Grey’s!!!!!

I love to watch Grey’s Anatomy and didn’t mind the relationship between Callie & Erica but Shondra’s ability to act is probably the reason for her leaving the show. If it was due to the relationship, then the firing would have been targeted at the writers. Originally she was written a confident, no-nonsense top-notch surgeon with not one womanly attribute. She brings nothing of her personality through, just what is written for her. Its easy to understand why she was casted as the girl in the well in Silence of the Lambs.

I read so much about this issue, and I heard many different stories, and I think that the reason of the firing (the one coz she’s a lesbian) can’t be true, coz they would fire “Callie Torres” too. She and Brooke’s charater Erica are a couple so why not firing both of them?! There’s have to be something else. Personally I’d love to see more girl-on-girl stories on this show. There’s not much of them on tv. Bye
