Where were we when “Icky Age Gap Couple” was defending their barely legal union on Good Morning America last week?
To say we’re obsessed with Doug Hutchison, a 51-year-old best known for his roles in The Green Mile and Lost, and his trashtastic 16-year-old bride Courtney Stodden is an understatement. So imagine our delight when the controversial couple decided to give a TV interview defending their ageless love.
All we need now is something to keep our breakfast down…
Doug n’ Court told GMA’s Lara Spencer that they met online and formed their eternal bond without the distractions of seeing each other in the flesh – or knowing just how big their age gap was.
“We could only get to know each other through our words and our sentiments,” Doug explained.
The actor says his “world turned upside down” when he realiszd that his internet babe was literally just a baby.
“It didn’t make me want to walk away, but it definitely was a struggle inside my heart… because I had already started falling for her.”
All was not lost – Courtney’s parents had been monitoring their online contact and suggested they get married to make any real-life shenanigans legal ones.
“[Courtney's mum] said, ‘I can feel my daughter’s love for you. I can feel it inside of my heart,” remembers Doug.
Courtney explained that despite her racy image, she was a virgin on their wedding day.
“I knew that if I kept that, I would really be blessed with a beautiful gift,” she said. “And God did. He blessed me with my soulmate. So I’m really thankful for that.”
Surprise surprise — Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison are currently shopping their own reality show.
We can’t wait.
