DJ AM Rehab Vow Just Days Before Suspected Overdose
DJ AM was set to enter drug rehab just days after he was found dead in his seventh floor New York City apartment of a suspected overdose last week, The New York Post has learned.
The 36 year old spinner — real name Adam Goldstein — was found in his lower Manhattan home last Friday, Aug. 28, a crack pipe and other drug paraphernalia were found strewn near the body.
Goldstein — who battled crack cocaine in his 20s – reportedly suffered a relapse after developing a dependency on anxiety medication he was prescribed after a near-fatal plane crash with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in South Carolina last September, the paper claims.
His recovery sponsor staged an intervention with the star on Thursday morning — and AM promised to check into a treatment facility in California after his scheduled set at The Palms Casino Resort Friday night.
