American Idol is to be turned into an attraction at Orlando’s Disney World theme park.

As part of the new attraction, Idol fans will be able to ‘audition’ by performing in video kiosks and those selected by a Disney Hollywood Studios producer will sing for a panel of judges. Performers with the highest votes each day will then compete in a daily finale show.

Backstage, the performers would receive hair and makeup touchups from a stylist and singing tips from a vocal coach. Then, the guests would perform on an ‘Idol’-like set in front of a live audience and three judges.

“Our goal is to try to recreate the excitement of those 24 people who show up on that ‘American Idol’ stage,” Disney Parks chairman Jay Rasulo said. “We believe many viewers want to know exactly how that feels, and we’re going to try to reproduce that feeling for them.”

American Idol will invade Disneyworld later this year.
