Kids of the ’90s, rejoice! Small screen fanatics who grew up spending virtually every Friday night glued to ABC’s TGIF lineup could have a new reason to tune into the Disney Channel.
Suits at the kid-centered network are in the early stages of developing a Boy Meets World sequel series titled Girl Meets World, TV Line has learned. The proposed comedy would center around the preteen daughter of original series stars Cory Matthews (played by Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) — who married just before Boy Meets World ended its seven-season run in 2000.
And get this, word of the curb has it that Savage and Fishel are being courted for lead roles in the new series. But snitches are mum on whether or not fellow original stars Rider Strong (Shawn), Will Friedle (Eric) and William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) will be part of the project.
