Director Martin Scorsese to be Honored with BAFTA Fellowship Award

Director, Martin Scorsese, will be honored this February at London’s famous BAFTA ceremony.

Scorsese, who has directed some of Hollywood’s best motion pictures, will be given the top award, the BAFTA Fellowship. This year the ceremony will take place during the peak of awards season, February 12th. The Departed director called the award, “a great honor.”

Scorsese has been nominated in the past 9 times by BAFTA, including 3 wins, in 1991 for Goodfellas in the best director, best film and best adapted screenplay categories.

Mr. Scorsese will be in some excellent company as other Hollywood heavyweights including, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Sean Connery, Elizabeth Taylor, Anthony Hopkins, Sir Laurence Olivier and Judi Dench, have also received this top honor.
