Did Twerking Disaster Cost Miley Cyrus Vogue Cover?
Miley Cyrus’ affinity for twerking has allegedly cost her the chance of appearing on the cover of Vogue magazine. Miley’s proposed Vogue spread is reportedly kaput after the magazine’s hardnosed editor — fashion titan Anna Wintour — caught a glimpse of Cyrus’ infamously raunchy MTV Video Music Awards performance.
Miley received an avalanche of criticism across social media after she was seen in a latex bikini dancing suggestively against crooner Robin Thicke, as the two performed his summer smash “Blurred Lines.” If British squeals are to be believed, Wintour was particularly taken a back by the showing. The catwalk critic promptly decided to axe Miley’s Vogue appearance as the controversy over the VMAs debacle made headlines, one snoop tells the UK’s Daily Mail.
“Anna found the whole thing distasteful. She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.”
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time a pop star saw a date with Vogue go up in smoke over risque behavior. In 2009, Wintour pulled the plug on Rihanna’s Vogue spot after face down-ass up flicks of a woman alleged to be the “Umbrella” hitmaker found their way online.
