Derrick Rose’s name has become almost synonymous with injuries in the NBA and it seems that he has been out for most of his career. However, when he is healthy, he is one of the best players in the NBA and hopes to return to the court soon.

Rose is a guard for the Chicago Bulls and luckily they have been able to play on without him with success this year, although his skills will certainly come in handy during playoff time.

Other players have stepped up in his absence including Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah, while also receiving help from newcomer Pau Gasol, who joined Noah in the All-Star game this year.

Derrick Rose has said that the pain in his knee is all gone, and he is anxiously awaiting his return to the court, which may come sooner than fans think. He is hopeful that he can start taking contact during practice this week or next week.

He recently had his right knee surgically repaired, and prior to his latest injury, he tore the ACL in his left knee in April 2012 and the medial meniscus in his right knee in November 2013.

His teammates are hoping he can return sooner rather than later in order to get some playing time in before the playoffs because there is nothing worse than not playing all year and having to play for the first time with all of the pressure that comes during playoff time.

The Chicago Bulls have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, but they still trail the Cleveland Cavaliers by three games in the Central Division. As of right now, they would be matched with the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs, but the last few spots have been switching around lately, and anything could happen before the end of the season.

Derrick Rose first needs to take contact in practice and after that, he will soon be ready to get out on the court again. Every game is important as the playoffs are getting closer with the Bulls only half a game ahead of the Raptors.
