Couple of notes. For ghodsake, Kristofferson has been in dozens of films - some award winning. Films like Lone Star, The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, even Blade fer goodness sake.
On another note, wouldn’t it be easier to list the forty of so people of note who didn’t suffer from depression?

I’d like to point out that if you included Hugh Laurie, it’s also important to include his partner in crime Stephen Fry (actor in “V for Vendetta”). Not only has he suffered from Manic Depression for his entire life, but he also put together an incredible documentary about it called “The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive”.

People seem to miss the point of what depression is and causes. It is not about success as people seem to think. It is not something that happens you do not have a hit film or when you lose an oscar. This is not anything to do with your mental. Depression is a total and utter helplessness and disregard for your own well being. It is a total lack of self control and guidance over your destiny and thoughts, feelings, expressions, desires, needs and wants. It does not care if you are Leonardo Dicaprio or Kristen Dunst or Joe Schmo. It is not something that can be cured with success or celebrity. People seem to think that success, or fame, or fortune, or all three will add up to happiness. That is not what occurs in the of Depressive or Manic Depressive. We constantly feel isolated, weak, useless, vulnerable and totally unsure of what we can do to get out of such a state. This is the reality and the circumstance that governs our lives. And to be perfectly blunt we feel as though something is wrong with us. As though we are unworthy of love, friendship, fame, fortune, health, wealth, and power. That is a the true thoughts of a depressive.
