Debbie Rowe Custody Emails Leaked; Legal Team Demands Retraction
Attorneys for Michael Jackson’s former wife, Debbie Rowe, are demanding a retraction from a former friend of the woman after she leaked emails related to an upcoming custody hearing involving Rowe’s two children with the deceased pop star.
Rebecca White, a “friend” of Debbie’s, recently shared shocking emails with Extra TV in which Rowe, who was married to Jackson between 1996-2000, states that she does not want custody of her biological children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, but she thinks it would look good to ask for custody because, “I don’t want to look like the woman who gave away her kids.”
White also admitted that she believes Debbie is asking for custody of the preteens simply for financial gain. “The motivation is money,” Rebecca said. “I really have to be honest… If the children aren’t the ones she wants, what else will she gain from it?”
The situation isn’t sitting very with Debbie’s lawyers, who sent the following statement to Extra on Wednesday: “In response to the media inquiries concerning statements made by Rebecca White during her Extra interview, we can confirm the following: Our firm has sent Ms. White a letter disputing the truth of her statements and demanding that she make a retraction in order to avoid legal action.”
The Jackson custody hearing is scheduled for July 20.
