How’s this for irony: The girl who once played a modern-day disciple on TV is now engaged to marry a guy who’s almost as old as Jesus.

Well…not really.

On Wednesday, a rep for funnyman David Cross confirmed the star’s plans to marry longtime girlfriend Amber Tamblyn.

In case you were wondering, the groom’s 47 and the bride’s 28. The two — who have been dating since 2009 — have been keeping the engagement a secret for weeks.

Tamblyn is best known for her TV roles on the now-defunct CBS hit Joan of Arcadia and more recently the FOX medical drama House. She rose to fame on the silver screen in the coming-of-age film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Cross is best known for his ridiculousness on the cult sitcom Arrested Development. David also lent his voice skills to last year’s Kung Fu Panda 2 and will reprise his “Chipmunk” role for a third time in Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked, slated to hit theaters on Dec. 16.
