David Cook’s cougar galpal is broken-hearted and spilling the beans after the former American Idol champed ended his yearlong romance with the Lindsay Lohan deadringer — who is nine years his senior — because he feared the relationship was alienating his fans!


“David changed his life in so many ways,” Kim Johnson, a 35-year-old model and forensic/intensive care nurse spills in the Oct. 26 issue of Star. “But I also can’t forget my feeling of abandonment, when I was being slammed left and right. I’ve never had a man treat me as if he was ashamed to be associated with me. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

Kim met David through MySpace in August; she liked his rendition of Lionel Richie’s “Hello.” David was still dating Idol Season 2 finalist Kimberly Caldwell when the pair quickly began chatting about their families, their careers, and past relationships. Once David was free, he and the new Kim hooked up. But as their one year anniversary approached and news of the relationship hit the tabs, Kim says the crooner became increasingly frantic about how his fans would accept the May/December romance.

She tells Star: “I was going to meet David at a concert in Tennessee, then he texted me: ‘We can still talk, but I can’t be seen with you right now.’ I was really hurt and I started crying when he called the next day. But there was a big change in his attitude, and he just nonchalantly told me, ‘Stop making a big deal out of nothing. You knew this would happen eventually….Near the end of August, he texted me: ‘Dude, I’m losing fans over there!’”
