Darius Rucker Makes History With “Best New Artist” CMA Victory
Darius Rucker accepted the “Best New Artist of the Year Award” at the 43rd Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville Wednesday night. The former Hootie & The Blowfish frontman became the first African-American to win a CMA since Charley Pride was christened Entertainer of the Year in 1971.
