‘Daredevil’ Star Charlie Cox Reveals Odd Fact About His Role [Watch]
Daredevil may be a popular comic for many people around the world, but apparently Charlie Cox didn’t get the memo about a key detail about his character. For those unaware, the Daredevil series follows Matt Murdock, who is a lawyer by day and fights crime at night under the name of Daredevil, using his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy.
Perhaps he was scared away by all of the negative reviews for the 2004 film starring Ben Affleck that everyone criticized him for, but you’d think that he would still know the important details about the show he was about to be the star of.
In an interview on Late Night With Seth Myers last night, Charlie Cox revealed that prior to taking the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil, he had no idea that the character was blind, or anything else about him for that matter.
Daredevil as a series is one of the most anticipated series’ of the year and will be streaming on Netflix in just over a week. In addition to Cox, the show’s cast includes Vincent D’Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Elden Henson, and Deborah Ann Woll.
Despite not being familiar with the Daredevil character before the role, with the trailers so far, it looks like he will do the Man Without Fear justice and it will certainly be a hit when it is added to Netflix‘s powerful arsenal of original shows on April 10th.
It is a bit understandable since the Ben Affleck film isn’t connected to the recent Iron Man, Captain America or Avengers movies, which are certainly what recent Marvel fans are familiar with, but he also revealed that he had no idea that the film of the same name was even related to Marvel.

Daredevil‘s star Charlie Cox may not be a comic book geek like many of the show’s fans will be, but that shouldn’t stop him from being great in the role. This show will be a much darker one that fans may be used to with Marvel shows and films.
