Danni Minogue Danyl Johnson Sexuality Slur — Danni Apologizes For Outing “X-Factor” Favorite
Simon Cowell is no longer reality TV’s most hated pundit. Dannii Minogue has apologized for an embarrassing remark she made about Danyl Johnson’s bisexuality on British television Saturday night.

On The X-Factor, the 27-year-old schoolteacher sang “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going from the musical Dreamgirls” – normally sung by a woman – which includes the line, “You’re the best man I’ll ever know.”
Once Danyl was done singing, Dannii, 37, questioned why he had changed the lyrics, remarking, “If we are to believe everything we read in the paper maybe you didn’t need to change the gender reference in it.”
The X Factor hopeful has admitted he’s dated men but began to tear up after the uncomfortable exchange.
On Sunday’s results show, the Aussie singer assured viewers that her comment was humorous, that Danyl hadn’t been offended or upset and that they had been joking about the subject during Friday’s rehearsal.
“I want to clear up exactly what happened on last night’s X Factor show and post my sincere apologies to anyone who took offence. I made a comment about Danyl changing the lyrics of his song,” Danni explained.
“It was meant to be a humorous moment about the fact he had an opportunity to have fun with his song. An openly bisexual guy singing a song that is lyrically a ‘girls’ song’. Danyl and I were joking about the very same thing in rehearsals on Friday, so it carried on to the show. I’d like to apologize to anyone that was offended by my comments, it was never my intention,” she added.
“I spoke to Danyl straight after the show last night and he wasn’t offended or upset by my comments, and knew exactly what I was saying. I understand X Factor fans do not want the judges to get personal with judging comments. During the course of the show all the judges become close to the contestants and this is because we adore them and care about them.”
