Danielle Staub Calls Off Scores Stripping Deal; Seeks Therapy For Childhood Sexual Abuse
It’s Dr. Drew to the rescue! The Celebrity Rehab doc is giving Maury Povich some much-needed competition for the title of “Captain Save-a-Ho” and extending a helping hand to often-unrobed ex-Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub.
The former federal informant’s gig as a Scores stripper was a shortlived one. Staub, a mother of two, claims she was “coaxed” into signing a deal to dance in the buff at the national chain of gentleman clubs. According to a press release issued by Scores on Monday, Danielle had agreed to make monthly live appearances at various locations across America and occasionally appear in strip shows on ScoresLive.com.
She’s since “walked away” from the deal.
“I have addictions with love and low self-esteem, and I need help!” the 48-year-old former Bravo star told PEOPLE after racy photos surfaced online of her dancing naked at Scores’ New York location surfaced online this week.
“My low self-esteem derived from childhood sexual abuse has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial,” she told the mag. “For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure. Seeing how I have hurt myself and my family this time,” she continued. “I can no longer push it behind me. I have to own my mistakes and can’t blame others.”
Danielle is currently working on a new reality show, Famous Food, with former Hills star Heidi Montag and jilted Bachelor Jake Pavelka.
