To the first MORON commenter that posted on July 24, 2009:
You’re kidding, right? Because I hope you realize that Daniel is 21 years old now. And all those “kids” that admire him are most likely that age as well. He can say what he wants, he is a grown man.
And this: “and besides if he is not gay as he claims then why is he using such words against homophobes” – Again, you’re kidding, right?? I’m not a lesbian, but I HATE homophobes. What does being gay have to do with not liking homophobia? You, sadly, are an idiot.
Thank god I have this awesome young actor as MY role model. I wouldn’t have it any other way – I think Daniel is brilliant.

At first I was dissapointed to read the title of this article, as I had thought it was him BASHING gay people. I respect Dan always, but NOW, 300%. I don’t understand why it is a big deal for headlines, but I hope he turns out bisexual or something to make everyone understand it isnt just a label or a lifestyle, its who you are.

Homophobia is basically fear and hatred, and these are bad (not only for those affected but also for those with these feelings). Why would anyone want to be ambiguous about it?

Apart from the liberal wing, it is even condemned by the Catholic Church:

“2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. (…) They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.”

Heterosexuals tend to make a fuss about the teaching concerning the 5% gays, and they ignore what is aimed at them, the 95%.

Those words are too strong for some one who is admired by alot of kids around the world.He is seen as a role model by many of them. what message is he trying to pass on to them? and besides if he is not gay as he claims then why is he using such words against homophobes. we humans only feel pain when something pricks our skin so deep and rigth on the spot.
