Some guests have not danced all their lives, it takes a lot of practice. The DWS shows are terrific, but too much pressure to look like a pro for the show is not that important.. Generally people who injure limbs have bad arthritis as they mature, not a good thing.

I agree on taking breaks after rehearsals. Judging from the length and severity of their recent injury list, it's a common sense move long overdue. Our dance studio has a rule...if it hurts, STOP. Even one hour rehearsals have a brief break. You'll last longer and be a lot healthier and happier if you do. I've got 30, 40 and 50 year olds to burn out on the dance floor and don't have time for the pain. My advice: be smart, train smart!

As a ballroom and club dancer who’s going to be 60 years old in four weeks, I can appreciate the precautions the show is taking and they should do more. Put the judges on the track, or gymnastics, or pliates, or.... in a two week track and see what their injuries are!!!Lighten up! IT's DANCE, NOT a marathon, NOT a critical skill set (ie. neurological surgeon), IT IS DANCE! Meant to be beautiful, graceful, ATTAINABLE! NOT THE CRAP these DA judges are critiquing or perhaps are even capable or were capable of performing. OVER THE HILL wanna be's??

I think this program, and the three hot shot??? judges need to seriouly BACK OFF!

Screw the “precision” , and “passion” and …..whatever. Everyone who signs up doesn't want to do something foolish on national television and so they are very motivated do what the professionals ask them to do. And I believe that many of the professionals have the same issue and push the 'celebrity' to perform at a physical level that many of them aren't ready for. I mean there is an big difference in the way you would train an olympic gold medalist, versus an overweight computer dude. So yes, I believe in this 'restriction' helps keep the more non atheletic contestants healthier, and really most of these people won't win, so better to be pushed, but stay healthy.

I think this is smart idea.
