“Dancing With the Stars” Drops Axe on Brooke Burke-Charvet

Some big changes are on the horizon for the next season of Dancing with Stars (DWTS) — and that isn’t exactly good news for series co-host and Season 7 DWTS champion Brooke Burke-Charvet.

The actress — who’s stunning figure’s been getting some mayjah love across the blogosphere in recent weeks — took to Twitter Friday to announce that she’s been given the boot by Dancing producers after seven seasons co-piloting alongside Tom Bergeron. Burke-Charvet replaced Samantha Harris as co-host in Season 10 and was, apparently, blindsided by her ouster.

“Shocking pre-season elimination: Tom Bergeron didn’t even read my name. I won’t be returning.”

It’s the latest in a year of big changes and ratings dips for the aging reality competition. Last fall, DWTS was cut from two nights a week to just one. Just last month, the show dumped bandleader Harold Wheeler and his 28-member orchestra.

It’s still unclear who, if anyone, will replace Brooke. We’ll know soon enough. Dancing with the Stars waltzes into the ballroom for an 18th season March 17.
