We’ve heard of “bringing the heat to the studio,” but founding Danity Kane members Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richard seem to have take the adage a step too far.
At least that’s the story the police are telling.
Law enforcements tell TMZ that the temperamental bandmates came to blows during a argument at a recording studio in the City of Angels on Monday, Aug. 4. Insiders say “Damaged” singer O’Day was struck in the head by Richard as third member Shannon Bex tried unsuccessfully to break up the melee. According to a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department, a battery report has been filed with O’Day being identified as “a victim.” The investigation is open and still pending.
No arrests have been made.
Early Tuesday, the usually chatty O’Day — who famously feuded with late-night veteran Arsenio Hall — simply tweeted this cryptic message:
“hurt people, hurt people.”
Danity Kane has been plagued by drama ever since finding fame on MTV’s Making the Band in 2008. The one-time quintet split in 2009 after being dropped by Diddy’s Bad Boy records. The group reemerged in 2013, without original member D. Woods.
