“Dallas” Remake Plotted On TNT

4

J.R. Ewing is getting a new lease on life as TNT plots a remake of Dallas, The New York Times’ ArtsBeat Blog reported on Thursday.
Dallas TV Show Remake

The cable network is working on a television remake of the iconic ’80s primetime soap — this while 20th Century Fox continues developing a big-screen version of the hit show. Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, and Patrick Duffy of the original cast have been asked to participate.

TNT’s revamped Dallas would focus on the next generation of Ewings — John Ross — the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen — and Christopher — the adopted son of Bobby and Pam.

Ugh — with spinoffs of soap classics 90210 and Melrose Place already clogging up the airwaves, we ask you, is a new Dallas really necessary?
